Falken Tire continues to “make waves with its entry in the all-terrain category,” the editors of internationally recognized Four Wheeler Magazine have acknowledged the tire manufacturer’s aggressive WildPeak All-Terrain (A/T) tire as one of the publication’s “Best Buys” in its September 2011 issue. “We have had great experience with them on our project vehicles and can recommend them without hesitation for serious trail work,” added the Four Wheeler editors, stating that “Falken has made a commitment to provide a line of quality products for wheeling enthusiasts.” Seeking to expand its applications and market, Falken launched the all-terrain, all-season and all-purpose WildPeak A/T in 2009 at the annual SEMA Show.
The goal was to bring Falken’s extensive technological advantage to the performance sport utility and light truck tire market and reinvigorate it through the WildPeak, offering the tire in popular original equipment sizes as well as aftermarket larger diameter sizes (up to 37-inches) which have been extremely well received by the off road enthusiast market. “The launch and expansion of the WildPeak A/T were further examples of how Falken Tire responds to the marketplace,” said Andrew Hoit, Falken’s Vice President of Marketing. “Consumers want something new – a tire that allows them to tackle their off road passions without sacrificing ride quality, road noise, and fuel consumption for their daily driving demands. We are extremely pleased with the recognition we have received from Four Wheeler magazine and obviously agree that WildPeak is indeed a ‘Best Buy’.”
Falken has already put its tire to the test through a number of grueling events over the past year; most recently, the JK Experience, covering 1,000 miles of wild and treacherous trails within in the rugged Northwest. The editors of Four Wheeler concurred: “We are now starting to see WildPeak A/Ts on the trail, so the word must be getting out that this is a premium tire at an affordable price. And now it is a Four Wheeler Best Buy.” Four Wheeler, established in 1961, is the original 4x4 enthusiast magazine, highly respected by its subscribers. A member of the Source Interlink family of automotive publications, Four Wheeler presents its readers with a wide range of informative and authoritative articles about the sport of wheeling. Falken Tire continues to introduce new tires for multiple purposes that fit the needs of its customers. The tire manufacturer focuses on high performance, using innovation and technology gleaned from both the laboratory and the racetrack as it competes in off-road programs as well as Formula Drift and the American Le Mans Series.
FALKEN TIRE, a Sumitomo Rubber Industries brand, was launched in its native country of Japan in 1983 and introduced to the North American market two years later. At its inception, Falken was created as the flagship high performance radial brand under Ohtsu Tire and Rubber. Now, more than two and a half decades later, Falken has become a well-known, stand-alone brand that focuses on UHP (Ultra High Performance) products while utilizing professional motorsports to further develop and improve products for worldwide distribution.
Falken Tire prides itself on its in-house branding and creative capabilities designed to assist the consumer by providing key information on its brand and multiple product lines. The fully staffed advertising department and motorsports team also strive to help Falken Tire fully maximize exposure and build upon its successes through the company’s American Le Mans and Formula Drift programs. Falken’s uncompromising Formula Drift program captured the 2011 championship for the second year in a row, and its ALMS team brought home two wins in the extremely competitive GT class of the American Le Mans Series.
The tire manufacturer also has made great strides in the off-road category, showcasing the capabilities of Falken’s WildPeak All-Terrain tire at multiple events across the country. Falken also serves as the Official Truck Tire of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series and enjoys strong ties to Defending Champion Ryan Villopoto.
